DIVAR - HERITAGE AND NATURE TRAIL ON RIVER ISLAND OF GOA

Divar Island is one of our cherished spots for birding in Goa. It is one of the two waterway islands on Mandovi River in Goa open exclusively by ship from Ribandar or Old Goa on our side of the island. Taking the ship resembles moving over to a different universe. You leave behind the indications of all that can be called metropolitan and go into the island life. The street towards the towns on the island is a limited strip or Pugdundee with fields and lakes on one or the other side. Morning and evening you can frequently detect locals fishing here.  Corporate Tour Packages

We regularly go for a stroll, view at the crabs and different animals around mangroves that go about as a limit divider for the island. We pursue a few birds and return. Whenever I was welcomed by the renowned wellbeing resort Devaaya for a dinner and that is the point at which we visited one more finish of the island. Some other time I was a piece of a Goa backwater riding endeavor and we wound up investing energy at one of the wonderful hotels run by a Bollywood entertainer and his better half.
When we cruised all over the island, halting to check out the delightful and beautiful homes the island has, shutting down each time something grabbed our attention.

History of Divar Island a River Island
Word Divar comes from Devawadi meaning the home of the Gods or where Gods reside. Oral history says that the island was brimming with sanctuaries and individuals didn't live on this island. It was a journey place. On the opposite side of the island, the town that is currently called Bicholim was called Bhatgram. Was it the spot where the ministers resided? Presumably.
