VILACHERY POTTERY VILLAGE IN MADURAI

The roads around Madurai Temple were clamoring as I strolled around taking in the scenes. The business sectors were moved as of late yet a portion of the shops around the sanctuaries were as yet swarmed. As floats of scent from Madurai jasmines floated in the air, I observed a little shop selling mud dolls of Gods and Goddesses that are shown during Navaratri Golu or Kolu. As my eyes checked the bright divinities, wedding car rental  jaipur I tracked down a dainty doll of the Patron Goddess of Madurai – Meenakshi Amman painted in green. I quickly concluded that she needed to embellish my home during the following Navaratri Golu. Similarly as I was strolling towards the sanctuary, my aide Vani inquired as to whether I needed to visit Vilachery stoneware town close to Madurai, which was home to a few experts and ladies who cut these dolls and painted them. Also that is the manner by which we chose to drive down to Vilachery, found 10 kms from the city.

Home to north of 200 families, Vilachery is a little stoneware town where pretty much every home has a place with the craftsmans. As traffic tops, it takes us just about 30 minutes to arrive at the town. A little truck remained in our way, obstructing the passage to a thin path as containers of dolls made of mud were stacked inside. " They are headed to Kerala, " clarified Vani. All things considered, it's Navaratri dolls that are famous here, yet even dolls for Christmas – we will see more inside. "
